"I would say that attending the Credit Diploma Program was a great experience and that all of the teachers and education staff were understanding of adult responsibilities and other life challenges. They make it possible for you to succeed as long as you are willing to put in the time and work."
- Sam Tillotson, CDP graduate, class of 2017
"The teachers were great, everybody was very helpful. The schedule really worked for me and I was able to be more successful attending school at night. I would highly recommend this program to someone who needs a flexible schedule."
- Boise Murphy, CDP graduate, class of 2014
“I learned a lot more than just schoolwork. I appreciated the staff that helped me get to where I was going. The experience was what I needed.”
- James Pitts, CDP graduate, class of 2016
"F.E.A.R has two meanings: Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise. The choice Is yours. In 2014, I enrolled in the Manchester Adult Education GED Classes. At first it was a rough road between long hours of work and two- 3 hour nights each week. I was heading in the direction of the first meaning of F.E.A.R, but the encouragement and assistance of my incredibly dedicated teachers, tutors and other staff members reinforced my determination to reach my goal. I made my choice to continue on a path towards the second meaning. Not a day goes by that I’m not happy and proud of that. It has made me a better worker, increased my abilities and advanced my career opportunities. The day you get to walk across that stage to receive your diploma will be worth all your efforts. And I hope that like me, it will be one of the PROUDEST days of your life. Take the step, Face the Fear."
- Frank J. Gotlibowski, GED graduate, class of 2016
"As I go forward in life, I can’t help but to think about June 13, 2017, the day I graduated from Manchester Adult Education. Prior to that, I had been living a lie for 40+ years stating that I had either my GED or my high school diploma. Now when I put it on an application, it’s a whole different feeling knowing that I have my high school diploma. I am forever grateful for the tutors, mentors, and staff at Manchester Adult and Continuing Education."
- Robert Chaney, NEDP graduate, class of 2017
"Looking back at my experience at Manchester adult education for three years, made me realize that it was a great experience. The foundation was very impactful for my future. The fundamentals, tools, and structures I have learned have made my future brighter.... and are being used toward my future goals. I am glad that I made it this far. I would not have made it this far without the compassion, dedication, and kindness of my teachers and myself."
- Maria Perez, NEDP graduate, class of 2019
Discovering the NEDP opened doors and turned life around for Stephanie Fields! After struggling in the public schools she left after the 10th grade. She found the GED overwhelming, felt discouraged and gave up. When speaking with a friend who had been through NEDP, Stephanie decided to contact Manchester Adult and Continuing Education and give it a try. “NEDP staff kept calling me, I felt supported and they never gave up on me!” Stephanie graduated from the NEDP in June of 2016. Stephanie recalls running into a NEDP staff member while purchasing her son’s birthday cake. She was encouraged to attend the Bridge to Achievement Program, a YWCA/Manchester Adult Ed collaborative program taught mostly by NEDP staff. She believes the Bridge and Key Train were instrumental in helping her to enroll in the Phlebotomy Certification program at Manchester Community College. Stephanie currently works as a licensed phlebotomist and hopes to someday work in a hospital setting. “NEDP is the best thing ever!” says Stepanie. “It helps people that struggle and expressed a lot of topics that we deal with in the real world. My daughter is proud of me! She is a straight A student!”
- Stephanie Fields, NEDP graduate, class of 2016
